2018 Spring Women’s Retreat

There’s not a person you will ever meet who isn’t telling some kind of story with their lives. As Christ-followers we’re telling a story with our lives, too. Our story is a divine story; one that’s being written through our daily actions, our devotions, our disappointments, our dreams, and most essentially, our faith.

It started two years ago as a vision given to Barb Curry, who said, “What would happen if we gave an opportunity for women to share their stories?”  As the Lord has shut and opened doors, the theme of personal stories keeps bubbling to the surface. Our two keynote speakers will build on that. Shelene Bryan will be sharing how God has reshaped the desires of her heart to become His servant, reaching out to the helpless, and bringing to the least of these, the  hope that we have through our Lord Jesus Christ. Allison Allen wants you to know that God can redeem your story…no matter it’s beginning.

This weekend will be an encouragement as others see the divine fingerprints evident in our lives.

Allison Allen

Allison Allen has spent a life-time joyfully walking in the shoes of others. After spending twenty years as an actor and teacher, she has had the joy of participatiing in many great stories. A graduate of the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University,  Allison has appeared in 650 performances of the Broadway production of Grease. A former Women of Faith dramatist and current Bible teacher, she speaks to women at conferences and retreats all around the country, exploring themes of purpose, value, and identity in original and unexpected ways. She lives with her family in Tennessee.

Shelene Bryan

Shelene is a former Hollywood producer whose life took a dramatic turn when she took a trip to Africa to see if the children her family had sponsored through a food program were real. Before leaving Africa, she made a promise to the children that she would do all she could to help their plight. Out of that experience, Shelene founded Skip1.org, a charity dedicated to providing food and clean water to children in America and around the world. Shelene is an accomplished speaker who now turns her extraordinary ability to challenge and inspire.

Jessa Anderson

Contemporary Christian artist with a Jazz-Infused Pop/Rock sound, Jessa Anderson is a creative lyricist currently touring North America with Jordan Anderson. Says Jessa, “There are many things I am passionate about, and many I enjoy, but I believe there are very few things in life that really, truly matter. First, Jesus Christ. After that, people. From there it all starts to blur into the category of “you can’t take it with you”, so I’m doing my best to invest the majority of my time and effort toward the first two. As for music, and why it matters, I view it as a thread that runs far and wide, bringing  people to God and to one another. I have a hard time labeling music in and of itself as “Christian”, but I am proud to be a Christ-follower making music encompassing both the human and the holy.”

At retreat, we come, we laugh, we pray… we grow and then we reconnect next year!

I met my best friend at Women’s Retreat! The people just wrap their arms around you …. so friendly!

This is a girl bonding time… a growing close time… it’s a place where we can grow close as sisters in Christ!
